Learn about the latest tax changes and updates for the 2023 Tax Year. Our focus will be on recent legislation and the impacts the changes have on you and your clients. This course will bring you up-to-date on the 2023 facts and legislative changes that impact clients; provide you with 2023 tables of the Tax Rates; and highlight useful “tax facts” and other important material.
Each year, various limits affecting income tax preparation and planning change. Some changes commonly occur each year as a result of inflation indexing, while others occur because of new legislation or the sunsetting of existing law. This course will examine the tax changes affecting 2023 the SECURE Act 2.0 and the inflation-changed limits effective for 2023 that are more significant from the perspective of an income tax preparer. Some context will be supplied, as appropriate, to assist readers in understanding the changes.

Successful completion of the 2023 Annual Federal Tax Refresher (AFTR) Course counts toward the voluntary annual requirement for obtaining an IRS Annual Filing Season Program (AFSP) Record of Completion for the 2024 filing season.
To be eligible for an AFSP Record of Completion, participants must pass the Annual Federal Tax Refresher (AFTR) Course and complete all other required continuing education by midnight (your local time), December 31, 2023.
